Christmas Day

We spent Christmas Day with my family.  My brother Bob and sister in law Rebecca drove in from Salt Lake City.  It was so wonderful for all of us to be together.  We all met at my parent's house in the morning and exchanged gifts.  Then we went to my aunt's house for Christmas dinner.  What an amazing day full of love and laughter.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with Todd's family.  What a glorious day.  Ava even got to meet Santa Claus for the first time.  How nice of Santa to take a break from his busy night delivering toys to all the children in the world for a few minutes with our sweet girl.

Ava's First Christmas

The second we set up the Christmas Tree, Ava was very interested in touching the lights and the ornaments.  (I am not sure where she gets that from) :)  Our first Christmas with Ava was a blessed time.  These pictures were taken about 2 weeks before Christmas.

Milestones Moment

As of today, Ava is 8 1/2 months old. Here are a few of her milestones.

• She is saying Da-Da, Daddy, Da-Da all the time especially when Todd gets home from work.  She laughs and squeals when he gets home.  Makes my heart soar. 
• She looks at Todd and smiles when I ask her "Ava, where's your daddy"? 
• She says Ma-Ma but only when she is crying and wants me.  She throws her arms out and says, "Ohhhh Mammmmmmmma!"  I pick her up of course.  :) 
• She is drooling like mad, so we think that she will be getting her first tooth soon. 
• She has been sleeping on her belly for a couple weeks now. 
• She is getting so strong and is doing much better on Tummy Time.  I believe that since she has been choosing to sleep on her belly that must be helping.  My parents gave her a Crawling Mat to help her learn to crawl...she loves it.  I am determined to make sure she crawls before walking. 
• She tried ground-up chicken the other night for dinner.  I would say she was not a super fan of the new texture and taste...but it grew on her. 
• We gave her one of our old remotes and she LOVES it.  It's her favorite toy. 

She is one amazing little girl.  We are truly blessed!

Halloween!

Ava's first Halloween!  Her Grandma Andrews made her the most adorable Lion costume.  It's soo cute!  We went to my parent's house for dinner and then Trick or Treated with Calea.  Fun!  Then we went home and handed out candy to our neighborhood kids.  Great first Halloween for lil girl!

Laughing and Talking!

Ava loves to talk.  We noticed last night that her language skills are getting so strong.  She has started babbling in a way that it really sounds like she is talking to us.  Exciting.  Here's a cute video of her laughing and talking that I took yesterday.  She's such a peach!

I was just looking at pictures of our wedding, and I am just blown away by how much Ava and Calea look alike.  Calea was 6 months old at our wedding....same age as Ava now.  Check out the pictures of Calea.

Eating = Mess

Just the other day Ava started trying to help us when we feed her.  We spoon food into her mouth, she spits out a little, and then she uses her hand to push it back in her mouth.  Then she finger paints with it on her clothes, her hair, her chair and anything else she can touch.  Her face, body, hair and hands get so messy.  Barkley the dog sure likes this new development, he makes sure he is on hand to give Ava a hand cleaning up.  (Pun intended).
